What are resources?

Some of the Jump’s most useful features fall under the Resources area. These are app integrations that help take your posts and messages to another level. It’s also a great way to group posts based off category (restaurant, books, products, etc.), so that you can sort them later.

These Resources offer a range of functionality, including the ability to easily share Spotify playlists, add polls, create sign-ups and add events, among other things. To access a Resource, look for the Plus sign in the lower left corner of your Jump feeds and in your Talk messages.

How do I post a resource?

Inside any Talk message or Jump feed, you’ll see a Plus sign in the bottom left corner of the screen. Tap it to reveal a list of resources.

Product: Tell everyone about a product you love. Tap on the product button and search a keyword using the Amazon integration. Select the product you want to share. You can customize the product photo or use the default image, add a comment (or not) and tap continue. Be sure to hit the Up arrow to submit your post.

Yelp: Share a favorite restaurant, shop or anything else from Yelp. Tap on the Yelp button, type a keyword in the search bar and select from a list of nearby options. To search for a business in a different city: Tap the arrow icon, type in the city you want to search and select it in the results below. You will automatically return to the initial search and you can type in your keyword to search for a business in that city. Once you find the business you want to share, select it, hit continue and tap the Up arrow to submit the post.

YouTube: Post a great video by tapping on the YouTube button and searching for relevant clips. Once you find the one you want, select it. You can leave the video’s default image or add your own, add a comment and tap continue. Hit the Up arrow to submit the post.

Spotify: If you have a link to a Spotify playlist, you can paste it here. You can customize the Playlist cover, name and add comments or leave the defaults in place and tap continue. Hit the Up arrow to submit your post.

IMDb: Link your favorite shows or movies using the IMDb integration. Tap the IMDb button and add keywords to find the things you want to share. Select the show or movie you want to post. You can customize the cover, change the name and add comments or leave the defaults in place and tap continue. Hit the Up arrow to submit your post.

Link: Have a URL you want to share? Tap the Link button and paste your URL in the provided field. You can customize the link image, change the name and add comments or leave the defaults in place and tap continue. Hit the Up arrow to submit your post.

Event: Create an Event and invite friends to join. Upload an image from your phone’s camera roll or search free photos in the Unsplash library. Give your event a title and select a start and end date. You also have the option to tag a location, add a comment and set up recurring dates. Tap continue and tap the Up arrow to submit your post.

Poll: Want to get the group’s thoughts? Select the Poll button. Choose an image for your post, type your question in the provided field and add answers in the next section. Under the Options section, decide whether you want participants to be able to select multiple answers and/or add their own. Once you’re finished, tap Done, tap Continue and tap the Up arrow to submit your post.

Checklist: Make a list, so you don’t forget anything. Tap on the Checklist button and add a picture to go along with your list or select a default color for the post. Give the list a title and add your items in. Hit continue, when you’re done and tap the Up arrow to submit your post. (Note: The checklist is for your own use. Any items you check are only viewable by you.)

Signup: Use the Signup feature to organize your next party or potluck. Add a photo or choose a color for the Signup, give it a title and start adding items. You can adjust the amount needed of any one item, so you can make sure people plan to bring enough. Tap continue and then the Up arrow to submit your post. (Note: Everyone in your group will be able to respond to the signup and also see the results.)

Task: Need something from someone? Use the Task resource. Choose an image or color to represent the post and enter the task you need completing (I.E. bring dues to practice). Next, select the group members that need to complete the task, tap continue and select the Up arrow to submit your post. After a task is completed, members can update their status, which is reflected in the results.

Share Jump: Link your favorite Jumps, so members can easily find them. Choose the Share Jump resource and choose between the Public Jumps you’re already a part of, as well as the Jumps you’ve created. Tap on the one you want to add, hit continue and select the Up arrow to submit your post.

Business: Add links to your favorite companies. Tap on the Business resource and type in the name of the nearby business. Select it from the list below. To search for a business in a different city: Tap the arrow icon next to the search bar, type in the city you want to search and select it in the results below. You will automatically return to the initial screen and you can type in your keyword to search for a business in that city. Once you find the business you want to share, select it, hit continue and tap the Up arrow to submit the post.

Hotel: Let everyone know which hotel you recommend. Tap on the Hotel resource and type in the name of the nearby hotel. Select it from the list below. To search for a Hotel in a different city: Tap the arrow icon next to the search bar, type in the city you want to search and select it in the results below. You will automatically return to the initial screen and you can type in your keyword to search for a Hotel in that city. Once you find the place you want to share, select it, hit continue and tap the Up arrow to submit the post.

Organization: Add a link to a non-profit, sports team, etc. using the organization tool. Tap the Organization button, paste the URL link in the provided space and select Continue. You can update the organization’s image and title or leave the defaults in place. There is also the ability to tag the organization’s address and add a comment, before tapping Continue. Select the Up arrow to submit the post.

Book: Share a good book with your group using the Book resource. Tap on the Book button and type keywords into the Amazon search field. Once you find the book you would like to share, select it. (Note: You also have the ability to share books that are not on Amazon, just copy and paste the book’s URL into the provided field and tap Continue.) The publication’s default image and title will auto populate, you can make edits or leave the default in place before tapping continue. Select the Up arrow to submit the post.

Location: Want to tell your group where to meet? Use the Location resource. Tap the Location button, give your destination a title in the provided field and add a search for the address. Select the business and/or address from the results and tap Continue. Select the Up arrow to submit the post.
