What are resources?
Some of The Jump’s® most useful features fall under the Resources area. These are app integrations that help take your posts and messages to another level. It’s also a great way to group posts based on category (restaurant, books, products, etc.), so that you can sort them later. These Resources offer a range of functionality, including the ability to easily share Spotify playlists, add polls, create sign-ups and add events, among other things.
Posting a resource
To access a Resource through a post, begin creating a post and the resource options will automatically populate. You can also access them through your chats at the bottom of the chat message screen.
Live
Want to share a Livestream? Just tap Live and begin recording your post by tapping the green circle to begin recording. Tap the green square to stop recording and your live feed will automatically post.
Event
An Event is a resource for Groups to inform its members of an upcoming activity. To create an event, tap on Event from the Resource options. Enter a title, select your date, time, and location, and customize with a photo or by using the art options available. You have the ability to set up recurring dates, if applicable, and customize RSVP options. Once you complete the details, tap Next in the top right corner, comment if you like, and tap Post to submit.
Poll
Want to get the group’s thoughts? Select the Poll button. Type your question in the provided field and add answers in the next section. Decide whether you want participants to be able to select multiple answers and/or add their own. Customize the look of your poll by adding color or selecting an image. Once you’re finished, tap Next, comment if you like, and then Post to submit. You can reference your poll results at any time by clicking on the poll from within your Group feed.
List
Make a checklist, so you don’t forget anything. Give the checklist a title and add your items in. Choose to either make a collaborative or individual list. Hit Next, when you’re done and then Post to submit.
Signup
Use the Signup feature to organize your next party or potluck. Give it a title and start adding items. You can adjust the amount needed of any one item, so you can make sure people plan to bring enough. Tap Save in the top right corner after you enter each item. Once your list is complete, tap Next, comment if you like, and then Post to submit. Everyone in your group will be able to respond to the signup and also see the results.
YouTube
Post a video by tapping on the YouTube button and searching for relevant clips. Once you find the one you want, select it. Tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Spotify
If you have a link to a Spotify playlist, you can paste it here. You can customize the Playlist cover, name and add comments or leave the defaults in place and tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Task
Need something from someone? Use the Task resource. Enter the task you need completing (I.E. bring dues to practice). Next, select the group members that need to complete the task, tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit. After a task is completed, members can update their status, which is reflected in the results.
Amazon
Tell everyone about a product you love. Tap on the Amazon button and search a keyword using the Amazon integration. Select the product you want to share. You can customize the product photo or use the default image. Tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Yelp
Share a favorite restaurant, shop or anything else from Yelp. Tap on the Yelp button, type a keyword in the search bar and select from a list of nearby options. To search for a business in a different city: Tap the arrow icon, type in the city you want to search and select it in the results below. You will automatically return to the initial search and you can type in your keyword to search for a business in that city. Once you find the business you want to share, select it, tap Next, comment if you like, and Post to submit.
IMDb
Link your favorite shows or movies using the IMDb integration. Tap the IMDb button and add keywords to find the things you want to share. Select the show or movie you want to post. You can customize the cover, change the name and add comments or leave the defaults in place after tapping Next, comment if you like, and Post to submit.
Link
Have a URL you want to share? Tap the Link button and paste your URL in the provided field. You can customize the link image, change the name and add comments or leave the defaults in place. Tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Book
Share a good book with your group using the Book resource. Tap on the Book button and type keywords into the Amazon search field. Once you find the book you would like to share, select it. (Note: You also have the ability to share books that are not on Amazon, just copy and paste the book’s URL into the provided field and tap Next.) The publication’s default image and title will auto populate. You can make edits or leave the default in place after tapping Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Business
Add links to your favorite companies. Tap on the Business resource and type in the name of the nearby business. Select it from the list. To search for a business in a different city: Tap the arrow icon next to the search bar, type in the city you want to search and select it in the results below. You will automatically return to the initial screen and you can type in your keyword to search for a business in that city. Once you find the business you want to share, select it, tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Location
Have a location you want to share? Type in the place you’d like to share. Change the name or leave the defaults in place, tap Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
Podcast
Add links to your favorite podcasts using the Podcast tool. Tap the Podcast button, search for the podcast you’re looking for and select. You can customize the podcast photo or use the default image after tapping Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
File
Add a link to or directly upload a file using the File tool. Tap the File button, then upload the file or paste the URL. You can customize the file’s title and photo after tapping Next, comment if you like, then Post to submit.
