Why create an organization profile?

It’s helpful to create an Organization profile, so that there is a dedicated administrator that’s responsible for a group or brand’s presence.

Example: Susan wants to set up a Group for her rec soccer team, the Aces, so she creates an Organization profile called the Aces. That way, when she shares schedule information within the Ace Group, it posts from the Aces profile and not her personal account.

The other advantage is that multiple people can be an Admin on an Organization profile, which is an easy way to share leadership responsibilities. Plus, if Susan leaves the team, she can assign a new admin and the Ace Group can live on.

Organization profile vs. a Group

Think of it this way: An Organization profile is the voice for a specific group of people. A Group is the place where that voice goes to hang out and interact with friends or fans.

Example: Susan creates an Organization profile for her soccer team, the Aces. She then creates an Aces team Group and invites all the players and coaches to join. That Group provides a place for everyone to chat, share photos, create events and more. As an administrator, Susan can post key information (game times, announcements, etc.) and it will appear as an official Aces post, rather than from her personal account.

Creating an organization profile

Tap on the three bars in the top right corner of your page to access your Settings menu. Select Create Organization Profile and Get Started. Give your profile a name. (This can’t be changed, so make sure you have it just like you want.) Select your organization profile picture.

Once those steps have been completed, at any time you can further customize or edit your organization profile by tapping on your Organization Profile icon in the bottom-right corner of the app. Next, select the Edit icon under your profile picture. You can then change your organization profile picture, add a bio or description of your organization, add a website link, and even add a background picture as well. When you’re done, tap Save in the top right corner to preserve your changes. Tap Save. Boom, your organization has a Profile!

Switching profiles

Hold down on your Profile icon in the bottom-right corner of the app. The Switch Profile tab will come up displaying any additional profiles linked to your account. Tap the profile that you would like to switch to. Alternatively, you can also tap the three bars on the top right corner of your screen to access the Settings menu, tap Switch Profile, then select from the available profiles that populate.

Note: If you are the administrator on more than one Organization profile, you can not switch from one Organization directly to another. You must return to your personal profile before switching to another Organization profile.

Adding admins

Once you’re in the desired Organization, tap on the three bars in the top right corner of your Organization Profile page, and tap Profile Admins. Select which friends you would like to make an Admin. Note: You must be friends with someone to make them an admin.
